Since this is my second time writing this (the first gone somewhere in the internet's equivalent to the Upside Down, probably) I'm going to bypass most of the fluff: Justice League action, good, Justice League storytelling, bad. There's a lot that an extended, two-hour fight scene can do for a movie, but credible character building is not one of those things. Also, Superman's face is a tremendous botch. More on that later, though.
Considering Bats v Supes almost killed the franchise before it really got started, Justice League is giving it (more) life. I would've liked to see an Aquaman or the Flash movie before this one, but it looks like DC is going to rely heavily on what we already know about these heroes. Marvel, for instance, had Nick Fury creep around for like four or five movies before they did the Avengers. I don't want to see Aquaman's origin story in the THIRD movie he is featured in. That's just insane. On top of that, we're given more questions than answers as far as Ezra Miller's Flash is concerned.
This is about as much energy I want to put into complaining about the film's villain:
Why Steppenwolf, though?
Seriously. Why?

Justice League continued the action-filled trend that made Wonder Woman by borrowing elements from The Avengers movies. Mainly, they borrowed Joss Whedon. Yes, the guy who made both Avengers movies (oh, and Buffy) is now pretty involved with Justice League. Whedon brought with him some of that fun, witty dialogue that contrasts so poorly with DC's dark skies and gritty characters. Why are all of these guys telling so many jokes? Let Flash do that. That's 100% Joss Whedon. You know what else he brought with him? Henry Cavill's terribly unrealistic face.
Finger wag.
Now that DC has gotten settled in with their starting six - all of which are cast as good as one could hope - we should now enter the real storytelling phase. Batfleck remains in good standing with me, and Jason Momoa made Aquaman look cool as heck! Ray Fisher is a new face for most of us, and he plays Cyborg excellently. The movie is very exciting, despite what it lacks. It's a good sign of things to come, which includes a very mischievous Lex Luthor.
