Yeah, sure, there was TV during the summer. (I think.) But, everyone knows that the Fall/Winter schedule has some of the best shows on TV.
Period.
With a few of those shows coming back last/this week, as well as some new shows premiering, I just want to take a minute to go through and review what will be on (y)our tubes for a few months. Consider it a guide of sorts. Anyway...
Since I missed Monday, I'll only say that premiering young Sheldon directly after Big Bang Theory is like CBS asking everyone to watch other channels during that hour. Just, no.

Today (Tuesday) is the day many watchers of the television have been waiting for. Season two of This Is Us (NBC) begins, and I would already bet that my eyes won't be dry by the credits. After the emotional roller coaster that was season one, I'm almost hesitant to start this season (Are you silly? I'm still gonna send it!). Sterling K. Brown won a much deserved Emmy for his work on the show. I am looking forward to more award-winning work from him and the rest of the cast.
Lethal Weapon and Brooklyn Nine-Nine both premiere today on FOX's "new" Tuesday lineup. Lethal Weapon had an excellent first season, and I think the chemistry between Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford can only get better. At the end of the first season, the pair truly became partners, and I'm very interested to see where their newest lead will take them.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is (to me) one of the funniest shows on right now, and easily the funniest cop procedural since Psych got canceled (c'mon, son). It's entering its fifth season, which is somewhat surprising, but I have no doubt it will continue to deliver. They'll be joined by The Mick, which will be sandwiched between the two. I haven't watched much of that, but what I've seen has been funny. It's like Always Sunny with kids in it, however I prefer Always Sunny sans children.

Season four of Empire premieres tomorrow (Wednesday) on FOX but, again, I haven't watched much of that show either. I've read there's an amnesia angle and all I can really think about is this commercial. Honestly, I think it's a ridiculous show. I have watched worse, though, so I'm definitely not passing any judgement. Most folks only watch it for Taraji, anyway, from what I've heard. Not a bad reason to watch.
Star, The Blacklist, L&O:SVU, and Modern Family all return on Wednesday, too. With those, we have the series premiere of SEAL Team starring David Boreanaz. I still think he lived his best life as a vampire but, hey, I'll give the show a shot.

The much-anticipated return of Will & Grace happens on Thursday night. I used to watch it in syndication when I wasn't able to sleep. I think it's pretty funny. I probably won't tune in, though, because football. If you won't be watching Thursday Night Football, you've got W&G plus ABC's Grey's Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder to keep you company. Grey's is on season thirty-four and Viola is doing some of the best work of her career. Lastly, Great News (NBC) begins its second season, despite me not knowing it was even a thing that existed.
If you're like me you don't watch much TV on Fridays, but there are definitely some shows to strongly consider watching (or, at the very least, saving to watch later). Marvel's Inhumans begins Friday (9/29) and looks like it's going to be kind of cool. It's got Ramsay Bolton in it, so there's that.
The Exorcist will start it's second season on FOX. I didn't watch the first season, although it looks sufficiently creepy. Hawaii Five-0 and MacGuyver AKA "shows I will never watch" return to CBS on Friday, as well. I don't really have anything to say about those two. Basically, watch them if you like them. Hell's Kitchen starts season 17 by the way.

There are shows premiering throughout October and into November, bringing favorites like Family Guy, The Flash, Supernatural, black-ish, and the almighty Scandal back to our screens. TV Guide has a pretty helpful list of all shows that will be back this fall. Keep in mind that this only includes non-cable channel premieres. The Walking Dead will be back in a few weeks. It'll get its own post.
Thanks for reading! Take a look below for the three premieres I'm looking forward to the most.
