We have waited almost a full year for Game of Thrones to return to us. It's seemed like a lifetime, but - finally - Winter is Here.
***Pretty heavy spoilers will follow, so if you haven't seen the Season 7 premiere I'd advise you not to continue.***

"Dragonstone" kicks off with a pretty big moment; Arya Stark is able to take down all of the important members of House Frey using a bit of trickery. It's been a long way coming for her, culminating in her killing of Walder and Sons (new band name idea) at the end of season six. She leaves a message with Walder's young wife and moves on. Arya runs into Lannister soldiers later on in the episode. She makes her intentions clear to Ed Sheeran (really) and co., who get a hearty laugh out of it. Do you think they live long?
We get another big moment with Bran showing up at the gates of the Wall. He can never seem to arrive when his family is actually there, though. He's seen the marching dead - a vision the Hound sees, too, while with Beric and Thoros - and needs to warn everyone of what's coming. From the looks of it, the White Walkers will be the most powerful force this season. I counted three undead giants. That's not good at all.
Jon and Sansa still aren't exactly on the same page. Sansa believes that Jon should take more advice from others, but I'm not sure she's aware of what he has been through at the Wall. His diplomacy got him killed, and I don't blame him for not wanting to die again. At the same time, Sansa still has her hands full with baeless Baelish and she needs to find something to do with his creepy self. You can see it in his eyes that he's itching to start up some trouble. Brienne also feels that he's up to something.
Cersei is a madwoman. Jaime doesn't look at her the same since hearing of Tommen's death but he's trying to stick by the woman he loves. Euron Greyjoy sails in to have a chat and promises to deliver a gift to solidify an arrangement between he and Cersei. They do have the same enemies, but neither of them can be trusted to honor any deal. We'll soon see what he has up his sleeve.
Easily the most disgusting part of the show is Sam's caretaker/custodial work. We get a glimpse of what he must do as a maester-in-training. It is gross. Farts and poops and slops. He is able gain access to a restricted book in the Citadel library, and is learning key information for the coming war with the dead. We also find that Jorah has arrived at the Citadel in search of a cure. He is in dire need of moisturizer.
The premiere closes with Dany reaching the shores of Dragonstone with her top guys: Greyworm, Tyrion, Varys, and Missandei. She takes in the images of dragons carved throughout the castle, sees the empty throne, and comes to the table where Stannis once formulated a battle plan. She surveys the room asking, "Shall we begin?" Boom. Chills.
"Dragonstone" started season 7 off in a major way. I'm interested to see how each episode will be affected by the shorter season; there will be only 7 episodes. So far, it looks like the result is positive, as I feel like there were no wasted scenes. If they stick to this trend we're going to get six more fast-paced, action-packed episodes. I'll be back for the finale, so I hope you all enjoy the season!!
