Maroon 5 is no stranger to catchy singles, and SZA is one of the hottest artists around at the moment, so it just makes sense that they'd get together for one of the summer's (end) most popular songs. "What Lovers Do" is a great song, and now it has an equally great video to go along with it. The video, directed by Joseph Kahn, is an imaginative take on chasing that special girl.
Adam Levine and SZA sprint/ride/fly from scene to scene, with Levine looking to finally catch the elusive SZA. What begins as a friendly, innocent chase as their young selves evolves into an increasingly elaborate pursuit throughout many different geographical regions, each with very gratuitous (but cool) use of a green screen.
The video is pretty groovy and is perfect for the song, which is particularly groovy itself. "What Lovers Do" mixes in a little of "Sexual", by Neikid feat. Dyo, adding a bit more funkiness to the mix. It is extremely fun to watch (and sing, of course!).
"What Lovers Do" is the third single from Maroon 5's sixth album, coming later in November of this year. The first two singles feature Kendrick Lamar ("Don't Wanna Know") and Future ("Cold"), as Maroon 5 has looked to a more R&B feel for the album. You can find the new single - as well as the previous two - on both Google Play and iTunes, and you can watch the video below!
